Michael C. Breckel, OD

Dr. Breckel was born and raised in Kentucky. He is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Houston College Of Optometry. He completed an optometric externship at Cullen Eye Institute of Baylor College of Medicine. In December of 1994, Dr. Breckel joined the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and is in charge of the eye service at Settegast Health Center in northeast Houston. There are more than 5,000 patient visits at this Harris County Hospital District clinic, which serves the community’s indigent population. Dr. Breckel presently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Houston branch Prevent Blindness.
