
Robert
M. Feldman, MD
Dr. Feldman
specializes in the treatment of glaucoma, which includes glaucoma
surgery. He received his medical degree at Chicago Medical School,
followed by a glaucoma research fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital
in Philadelphia. He completed his internship at New York Infirmary
- Beekman Downtown Hospital; his residency in ophthalmology at
the University of California, San Diego; and a clinical glaucoma
fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Feldman
is a Clinical Professor and was selected by Dr. Ruiz as
Deputy Chairman of the Department in 1999. He is Director of Glaucoma
Services at the Cizik Eye Clinic and also holds an appointment
at the University of Houston as Adjunct Professor in the College
of Optometry. He was honored as Outstanding Teacher in Ophthalmology
by The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1996 and
also was awarded the Dean¹s Excellence Award.
In addition
to his duties as a reviewer for the journals Ophthalmology, British
Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of Glaucoma, Clinical Therapeutics,
and Eye, Dr. Feldman has authored or co-authored nearly 100 journal
articles, abstracts, and book chapters related to glaucoma research.
He has given numerous presentations worldwide on many topics in
ophthalmology. He is a member of several medical societies, including
the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma
Society.
