Mintz Hittner, MD
Dr. Helen
Mintz-Hittner graduated with high honors from Rice University,
where she was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa. She received
her MD degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine in 1969
and was recognized by election to Alpha Omega Alpha. Her postgraduate
training includes an internship in pediatrics at Baylor Affiliated
Hospitals, a residency in ophthalmology at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals,
and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at Baylor Affiliated
Hospitals.
Dr. Mintz-Hittner
is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology
and Visual Science, where she also holds the Alfred W. Lasher
III Professorship. She also holds appointments as Clinical Professor
in the Departments of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics at Baylor College
of Medicine. She is the author or co-author of many articles in
scientific and medical journals, as well as chapters in books
and other professional publications.
Dr. Mintz-Hittner
is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American
Academy of Pediatrics, and the American College of Surgeons. Her
memberships also include the American Association for Pediatric
Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the American Federation for Clinical
Research, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Mintz-Hittner
has developed a large practice during her many years of service
in the Houston community and has seen her earliest patients grow
into parents with children of their own, whom she is also proud
to be treating. Many of her patients’ parents have undergone
laser corrective surgery under her good care.
