
Richard
W. Yee, MD
Dr. Yee graduated with honors from Houston Baptist University
and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health
Science Center at San Antonio in 1979. He completed his internship
at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin and served his residency at
University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and the University
of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Yee pursued
special training for three years in Cornea/External Disease at
the Medical College of Wisconsin. He quickly gained respect throughout
the world as a leading corneal surgeon and researcher for transplants,
cataracts and refractive correction. He has been granted hospital
appointments at Memorial Herman Hospital, M.D. Anderson Hospital
and LBJ Hospital in Houston, TX. Dr. Yee has performed surgery
on many employees of Houston companies such as Continental, Exxon,
Reliant Energy, Compaq and various lawfirms. Doctors, nurses and
personnel within the Texas Medical Center seek his expert advise
and services. Dr. Yee is known for recommending types of surgery
that are best-suited for each individual.
Dr. Yee is
the Medical Director of the LADARVISION Center at the Hermann
Eye Center. He is a clinical professor at the University of Texas
Health Science Center at Houston where he also serves as a Medical
School Admissions Committee Interviewer and a Faculty Advisor.
His teaching position allows him to provide humanitarian services
in the community by providing eye care to the less fortunate.
Dr Yee has also served on missions to third world countries.
For his years
of scientific research and dedication to the improvement of vision,
Dr. Yee has been awarded the Joe M. Green, Jr., Endowed Chair
in Ophthalmology. He has been the Director of the ISRS and is
the Director of the International LASEK Congress. Dr. Yee has
been invited to speak at international conferences in Italy, France,
China, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Argentina, and Venezuela and throughout
the United States. He has held editorial positions with many of
the major Ophthalmology journals and has served on National Grant
Review panels, study sections and committees. Dr. Yee has published
several books and authored, co-authored or presented over 300
clinical papers throughout his career. He is currently working
on a granted study of Molecular Genetics in Corneal Dystrophies.
Dr. Yee welcomes
